Presented in collaboration with Phoenix Choral Experience (PCX) program, Humanity is an expansive musical reflection on history, connection, resilience, and justice. The concert spans global narratives, from a Filipino showpiece (Gapas) and African American Spirituals (Elijah Rock & Battle of Jericho), to works rooted in women’s healing traditions (To Help the Crampe). Works by Reena Esmail, Saunder Choir, Gabriela Lena Frank, and a world premiere by B.E. Boykin weave themes of belonging and resilience, culminating in pieces that honour civil rights heroes and amplify young voices, With a majority of BIPOC representation and living composers, Humanity is both a reckoning and a celebration of our shared stories.
